6 tips for starting your nutrition journey

My best piece of advice to anyone looking to start up their nutrition journey with a coach is to keep an open mind. I mean, you're likely seeking help because your way hasn't worked for you in one way or another, right?

Understand that it will likely take more time than you originally anticipated, that you're going to have to learn new habits, and maybe even rewire your brain to drop some old ones.

I know everyone is always in a rush to lose weight, and I get it. Social media is flooded with crazy 30 day transformations and a healthy dose of photoshop, and you're paying for a service to help you reach your goals to get your own wild transformation. But when you zoom out and look at the bigger picture, what's an extra 4-6 weeks of building better habits and consistency that'll last you a lifetime?

Things that I have new clients really hone in on in the first few weeks include:

  • Getting a consistent amount of adequate protein and calories

  • Learning how to plan ahead and comfortably navigate social events

  • Drinking enough water

  • Filling 80% of their diet with nutrient dense, minimally processed whole foods

  • Establishing a solid sleep routine & managing stress

  • Getting a good amount of movement throughout the week

Do yourself a favor and really lean into the process. Do the work to build a solid foundation so that your hard work and investment in yourself is sustainable for future you.

Otherwise, aren't you just setting yourself up to go back to square one?

Right now is the perfect time to get started and build that foundation before the new year starts. Set yourself up for success now instead of waiting for the new year.
