TESTIMONIAL
After years of not working out, I got into a routine of going to Orange Theory 3-4 times a week. I felt stronger but wasn’t seeing the body composition changes I thought I would in the year and a half of working out consistently. It was time for me to work on my nutrition. I had all the excuses of why I didn’t want to work with a coach. I was afraid that a coach would judge me for my love of french fries, my food choices and that I would be hungry all the time. As a Christmas present, my brother got me started with Black Iron Nutrition and I started working with Maggie in January of this year.

When filling out the intake information I said that I wanted to lose over 30 lbs. I remember thinking there was a good chance it would never happen and if it did, it would take at least a year or even more since I have wanted to lose the weight for over a decade. My first week was extremely humbling. I felt embarrassed sending over my photos and wasn’t sure how anyone survived on the calorie goal I had.

It amazes me that in less than 4 months I was able to hit my goal and am now down 45 lbs! I thought that in order for me to be successful with nutrition coaching, I would have to eat boring food and my numbers would have to be perfect all the time. Totally not true! Some days are better than others but I now know that it is the consistency of making my nutrition a priority and planning ahead whenever I want to eat ice cream or french fries. My journey hasn’t been easy but what has helped me through it is the amazing support and patience from my family, friends and Maggie. I didn’t believe in the process because in all honesty, I didn’t think I had it in me to make the changes that I wanted to make. Now that I know I can do this, I’m excited to work on other goals that I didn’t think were possible!
