Before starting with BIN I had been “dieting” on and off since high school. I had very little clue what I was doing, I tried following cookie cutter plans, 1200 calorie diets and various other programs, all with the right intentions. While some were successful and I maintained for approximately one year- life happened and I was back to where I started. I knew I was in over my head and a friend recommended BIN. After researching and overcoming nerves I finally got the courage to reach out and start with BIN- which was by far the best decision I could have ever made for my health and fitness journey.
My BIN coach, Diana, not only guided me but TAUGHT me how to live a sustainable LIFESTYLE, not diet. She answered my relentless swarm of questions with thorough, educated responses and always taught me the “why” behind the changes and decisions we were making as a team. Knowing the “why” had always been so important to me. The amount of knowledge I have gained since starting with BIN is incredible and makes the journey that much better for me, as well as positively impacting my nursing career.
As always, life has some crazy curve balls. Through each change (some more challenging than others) Diana listened to me, my concerns and adapted my program to fit my changing needs- which for a few weeks meant a complete break from BIN. Every step of the process she has been incredibly supportive and encouraging- pushing me in so many ways including to change some negative thought processes and focus on how far I have come in my journey and to appreciate the little victories. She helped me to switch my thought process from “bad food” or “good food” to understanding the nutritional breakdown and looking at foods for their components- i.e. apples are carbs, chicken is protein, peanut butter is fat and protein etc. Looking at food in this way makes maintaining this lifestyle possible. No foods are “off limits” it just requires a little planning to enjoy your favorites.
I truthfully can not recommend BIN enough to anyone who is looking for guidance and help through the confusing tangle of dieting and nutrition. There are so many ads, supplements, programs etc out there with so much conflicting information it can be hard and overwhelming to understand and commit to positive nutritional/lifestyle changes. BIN helped me tremendously to understand the complicated world of nutrition and set the foundation for a successful future!
My journey with BIN is far from over but for anyone on the fence please take the leap and join! I promise you won’t regret it.
