TESTIMONIAL
I joined Black Iron Nutrition in May of 2021. I was just about to turn 50 and I knew I wanted to fight off pre-diabetes and age more gracefully. I wasn’t nervous to work with a coach, but I was nervous about submitting photos. I have had body dysmorphia for a long while and I hate having my picture taken. Anyway, I did it. I submitted my first picture to my coach on May 12th and couldn’t even look at them. I just attached and submitted. Almost a year later, I am now not ashamed to look at my progress photos. I actually study them and am amazed at how much my body has changed just 20 pounds down. My coach has been a joy to work with. I’m thankful for her showing me macros and being patient with me. When she took me out of my first cut into a reverse diet, I was so scared of this process. Reverse diet? What? That makes no sense I thought. I need to keep losing weight to get to my goal. So I really had to shift my thought process and trust her. I finally understood how much I needed the calorie surplus because I was losing energy in a cut. The macros plan has changed my life because I no longer obsess about food. I rarely crave sugary or salty snack foods anymore. But if I do, I eat them and enjoy them. There are no good or bad foods and everything can be enjoyed in moderation. I used to turn to food for comfort or stress. I no longer use food in this way. Also with my coaches recommendation, I started making sure I get a least 7,000 steps a day and 3 strength training days. I still have more body goals, with strength and weight loss, but I’m not stressing the journey, just enjoying it. This past year has taught me that this is not a race but a journey, because once you reach your goal you still need to work the plan in maintenance. Never give up. The gym photo explains it best. “You are capable of more than you think”.
