TESTIMONIAL
I have been overweight and had an unhealthy relationship with food for as long as I can remember.

I was inadvertently taught from an early age that food was both a cure-all and a curse.

Sad? Eat. Mad? Eat. Happy? Eat.

My parents were serial-dieters and in turn, I started “dieting” at a young age.

Binging and purging, not eating, low carb, no carb and eventually I would replace food with alcohol or cocaine and then binge when I came down.

After the birth of my daughter in August 2016, things began to feel and look different.

Like most parents, I had Scarlett’s best interest at heart. I didn’t want to model the behavior I had been taught for so many years. I didn’t want to teach my daughter to struggle, to be uncomfortable in her skin or eventually feel held back by her weight like I had for so many years.

I have been following Krissy Cagney and her story since 2011 and I began working with her and Black Iron Nutrition in February, 2016.

With the knowledge of the Black Iron Nutrition model and the endless support of my coach, Krissy Cagney, I have lost almost 100 lbs, 70 of it being in 2017.

Through flexible dieting I have begun to fully repair my relationship with food.

I don’t restrict myself which leads to less feelings of wanting to binge. I look at food as a means to fuel, hydrate and run my body instead of calories or “bad foods.”

I feel in control instead of controlled-by food.

Nutrition isn’t and shouldn’t be approached with a one-size-fits-all mindset.

How we approach food is personal and my experience with my coach and Black Iron Nutrition has been personal.

I am forever grateful that I accepted the knowledge and took control of my personal circumstances and experience when I did.
