Kaitlyn was born and raised in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. She started swimming competitively at age 4 and went on to become a 28x All American (NCAA maximum) at Clarion University, breaking 9 school records and finishing as high as 2nd at D2 NCAA’s.
After graduating college, she continued training for the 2016 Olympic Swim Trials. She qualified for Trials in the 50 free, 100 free, and 100 fly, finishing as high as 27th in the country in the 50 free.
Kaitlyn retired from competitive swimming and found Crossfit in 2017. It was just a fun way to stay in shape until 2021 when she decided to challenge herself to qualify for a competition. With her sights set on Wodapalooza, she decided to add swimming into her Crossfit training once a week as recovery.
After signing up for a local swim meet for fun, her time qualified her for the 2022 National Championship and she quickly found herself back in the mix of competitive swimming. She went on to place 6 th at the 2022 US Open with an Olympic Trial qualifying time of 25.44, much faster than her time from the 2016 Olympic Trials while training full time as a swimmer.
She continued using Crossfit to train for Olympic Trials and began working with Kelsey Kiel and Black Iron Nutrition to help her get stronger and fuel properly as a dual sport athlete. This inspired Kaitlyn to get her Precision Nutrition Level 1 certification, and she couldn’t be more excited to help others reach their goals, just as Kelsey has helped her.
