I have been fit in the past, but with work (stressors, a toxic boss, and long hours), my fitness level fell to zero. When I signed up with Black Iron, I had no motivation to work out, was probably depressed, and severely needed a jumpstart to get back to the gym, as well as to re-evaluate how to bring my nutritional requirements in line with my activity levels. I quickly learned that I had been under-fueling all this time! A specific nutrition plan was created that was tailored to my needs, and I learned about nutrition timing. I had meaningful, thorough, and thoughtful check-ins with Coach Ryann, who was never judgmental and always had a bunch of helpful tips, from de-stressing ideas to fueling and also building my mindset. I had never run before, and under her coaching, I was able to run a 10K! Overall, I have gained so much knowledge and honestly feel empowered to move forward and smash all my future goals.
I also LOVED the anti-diet culture paradigm of this program—that we need well-fueled bodies to perform and to be strong! There are way more indicators of being fit than just measuring against the scale.
