CHRIS BONILLA, MS, CSCS
he/him
Chris was born and raised in the Washington D.C area and was a soccer player for his entire childhood. When he turned 17, he enlisted in the Army National Guard as an Infantryman which sparked his passion for all things health and fitness related. He has coached Weightlifting/Crossfit/Nutrition in some capacity since then, in an effort to share his passion with those around him. Athletically, he competed in Olympic weightlifting for 6 years, before switching gears for a couple of years to train for, and complete an Ironman triathlon in 2021. Now, he is mostly training for health and enjoyment and dedicates most of his free time to his family.
In 2017 he was commissioned as an officer in the National Guard and has continued serving ever since. He currently occupies a full-time role as a finance officer with the National Guard Bureau in Arlington, VA. He recently completed an MS in Exercise Science with the United States Sports Academy and is currently pursuing a PhD in Health Sciences with an Exercise Science emphasis. He currently lives in Maryland with his wife, 2-year old son Naim (yes named after the weightlifter), and two small dogs.
